Day Spa
The goal of the design of a day-spa was to capture the lifestyle brand’s ethos.
Since the spa offers spa treatments, energy healing classes, a fitness center, and an organic restaurant, among other amenities, it was designed to promote healing.
The architecture and interior design was inspired by a nautilus shell, which is a symbol of renewal. The separate buildings visually flow together, like the ridges of a nautilus shell. Curved exterior and interior walls create a soothing feeling within the space.
The elegant spiral of the shell, which is formed by concentrically larger chambers, is a metaphor for how its past informs its potential to grow in harmony with its future.
Inspiration Imagery
Muted rosy hues with detailed textures inspired the materiality of the interiors. Soft curves in the brand’s imagery inspired rounded architectural features.
Spa Reception Design
The edges of the arched hallway that leads from the reception to the lounge is lined in rose gold to subtly form the appearance of double "o" shapes, like those that appear in the brand's name. Carved openings in the wall filter in sunlight creating a pattern of light that changes with each day and season, hopefully reminding people of their potential to morph and change.

Inspiration Imagery
Restaurant Entrance: White stucco walls and white-washed concrete floors create a bright and ethereal atmosphere.
Materials matter as they influence moods. Using deeper tones of plaster and wood creates a richer feeling in the same space.
Restaurant Dining Area: A live edge countertop along the bar creates movement in the dining room. Repetition of arched wall niches adds to this sense of movement.
Material tweaks influence the feeling. Muted colors in similar hues decrease visual contrast and can give the dining room a softer, smoother feeling.
Exercise Studio: Dual skylights in the shape of the letter "o" let in streams of sunlight and nod to the brand.
Sun intensity and glare is controlled by electrochromic glass.
Entrance: The design of the gold metal-framed glass entry door drew inspiration from the shape of the letter "g" in the brand's logo.
Nature Infused Materials
In line with the brand’s focus on wellbeing, the materials used throughout the project are sustainable and support the health of inhabitants.
Healthy.
Non-toxic materials are imperative. Fabric does not contain carcinogenic flame retardants, flooring is natural, not synthetic, and paint is “non-VOC”.
Sustainable.
Materials are sustainable across the life-cycle of products, including sourcing, manufacturing, transporting, and decomposing. For instance, recycled local oak timber beams encircle the ceiling in the restaurant.

The architecture of the spa was designed to form a nautilus shell.
Meditation Garden: At the center of the nautilus spiral shaped wall is a calming stone meditation garden, encircled by a stream of water.
